How Will UFC Hype Carwin(still unknown) V. Brock?

...to the mainstream he is still relatively unknown. So far Brock's fights have been against well known fighters with built in drama. How besides the size thing are they going to stir up PPV buys?I am sure they will build it up on the count down show, but Carwin just doesn't seem to have any momentum. If he beats Brock, now we have a story.A new giant that's unstoppable. They can market the crap out of that, but right now this fight seems a little forced marketing wise. What say you UG.

...I get that, but don't you think they should have put him in a couple co-main events first for name recognition?

I am more worried about what will happen if Carwin wins. He is not really a big name and the top org in the world is better off with a huge name as its HW champ. For some reason the HW division is always the most popular so i think this means a lot.

This. They will talk about how they have to make special gloves for Brock, and Carwin has EVEN BIGGER HANDS OMG! Then they will talk about how Carwin beat Gonzaga in a minute and blah blah blah. This stuff is too predictable.

he's a big dude that's a KO artist, shouldn't be hard

yeah what puddle said, dude is huge, show people a picture of the two, they will want to see them fight.

actually the HW division has not been a draw for the UFC historically. From the beginning of the Zuffa era until Randy x3, the UFC HW champs were not really draws

Barnett, who was immediately stripped
Ricco Rodriguez
Tim Sylvia
Mir
Arlovski
Sylvia

Not a single big draw among them. Randy and Brock have really opened it up and now the HW division has Randy, Nog, Brock, and Mir all as amazing-to-good draws.

exactly. stand them next to each other, show some of Shane's big punch highlights, easy sell

Bros,

Exactly what I was thinking!! I think it will be easy to use their sizes on their posters and advertisements.. In other words show the muscle because most think that muscle and size equals everything in fights...

That is an interesting post as i never really noticed the high percentage of previous UFC HW champs who are not big draws, but you misunderstood what i was saying i think. I am saying that right now the UFC seems to be at an all-time high in terms of PPV buys and popularity and imo it has a lot to do with the popularity of all their current champs. Also, even though the UFC might not have had huge draws as HW champs in the past it is still important for them to maintain their dominance as the current top org in the world by having a big name as the champ in the most popular division(according to fans).

They will turn it into a grudge match because Shane has already made a lot of negative comments about Brock.

inf0 -

Brock is a big enough name to promote any card... seems like common sense to me.

...yea,you're right .But if they rely on that for to long people will get bored and move on,happens to champs all the time.I still think they should have built Carwin up more first.

why? Lesnar is money in the bank right now. they could match him up with anybody and the casual fans would pay to see it.

Carwin's had nothing but highlight reel finishes in his three UFC fights. now's as good a time as any for him to meet Lesnar

even if Lesnar loses, he's still a big name, and UFC would have a new star in the guy who beat him

You sound upset by this marketing technique. What the fuck would you like them to focus on? His knitting skills?

Good guy bad guy of course!

Call the card Ogre vs. Ogre and be done with it....

His hands are bigger than Titos head.

All I'm going to say is this

A shitload of people paid to see Tyson/McNeely and Tyson/Botha
