Even so, they both are Kessler's only losses, as far as narrowing down the best boxing superfight that is somewhat relevant cause Joe only retired 3 years ago these two would make for the most compelling match.
I don't disagree with 116-112, might even be closer than that/
Calzaghe would win, as he's more versitile, more heart and just a better fighter.
Joe would have won gold in the Olympics if the local boxing association hadn't schemed/used politics in their selection process to prevent him from going. And Calzaghe would have been fighting in a tougher era than the one Ward won his medal in.

I used to think the same thing. Then he beat Hopkins and I was sold on Joe.
Especially after the Knockdown in rnd 1 and Hopkins tying him up non-stop. He just overcame it all
