I realize that this might make people angry and let's all laugh at the ones that get angry, but...
how do you think Fedor would do in pure BJJ, with the gi?
There, I won't have my question any more complex.

How would Rickson do in olympic judo?
He would definitely kick major ass in the novice division.
lol at "What did Godzilla do to Tokyo?"
I'm thinking throw for points get up, rinse, lather, repeat. Someone would really have to work hard to keep him on the ground.
wth, i'm sorry slick, i was using mouse gestures in my browser and accidently clicked the delete message on your reply. It was an accident, it had nothing to do with what you wrote.
So you guys basically think no one could even beat him there?
He'd be a real submission threat as well.
he would get submitted by the elite (Jacare, Roger Gracie, Saulo, Xande, Ryron, Rener, Rickson, Margarida)
Fedor would beat some people and then get tapped.
just like
Machados, Gracies etc. submitted people easily and then in the end got thrown by ippon when they entered various Judo competitions.
He might or might not win a match at heavyweight at ADCC. Certainly would not place. With a gi on he would get tapped by a lot of people.
What evidence does anyone have to show that he would get tapped by alot of people?
You must be considering that he has been tapped so many times in MMA..... oh wait, he's never been tapped in MMA, that's right.
MMA is very very different from gi BJJ. How often does he do BJJ with a gi? Oh wait, he doesn't compete in BJJ with a gi.
fedor has been placed in some very bad positions in many fights. with the gi on and facing the top bjj guys, he wouldn't be able to get away with that. getting him on the bottom and keeping him there would be the problem. he also might not be able to slip out of so many guard submissions with the gi.
Sambo is done with a GI given its not BJJ and they dont wear Gi pants, but he woulnd not be ignorrant to gi techniques
Just as everyone says when they can't think of anything better..."MMA isn't BJJ", the reverse is also true in this case "BJJ isn't MMA"
He'd do ok, but he'd get subbed or flat out tooled eventually by somebody. (Xande, Saulo, Roger, Jacare..etc.)
Fedor was never a World Champion in Judo. He never even competed at that level. Judo isn't BJJ anyway.
Fedor would get tapped by a shitload of people at the Mundials in the blackbelt HW div.
Fedor would do better at the mundials than any world class BJJ guy would do at the russian judo nationals
From what I've seen Fedor's game is even better with the gi, he is alot tighter and even more controlling.
Makes sense, seeings as he trained most of youth with a gi on, either in sambo or judo.
Fedor would do well, he'd win some and lose some, doubt he'd be a champ unless he devoted all his time to training specifically for the sport (wow, what a shock).
He would benefit from competiting at the higher weight class, where the talent pool is very shallow in BJJ comp, and you don't often see the guys with real strong judo backgrounds there, like Filho, Jacare.
He would do very well in my opinion but not win all the time. What makes Feodr so greta is that he uses ALL his skills not just one discipline to dominate, take some of those away and he is no longer fedor but still a threat to a good percentage of people
