I think Machida would beat him at this point, Machida is finally fighting at the right weight class and looks better than ever and Shogun has slowed down with alot of mileage on him. I think he loses to Jacare and Weidman as well. I would love to see him fight Vitor though at either LHW or MW.

This. I have no idea why people are so obsessed with watching fighters drop a weight class after a string of losses. He is losing now because he isnt the same fighter he used to be. He was so good that even as a shell of himself he is still dangerous and will have a few flashes of brilliance from time to time. Instead of a bunch of green marks in a row on fight finder, he will now start having red ones here and there.
Same thing happened to Nog, Rampage, Wanderlei, CroCop, Hendo, Liddel, Frye and plenty of others.

Has nothing to do with weight, now. He's an all time great but has taken too much damage

He has potential to knockout guys like Machida, Belfort, Weidman, and Anderson... However, I can see him losing to the Ryan Jimmos of the world Guys who know how to manage the clock.
He would still be small next to Weidman and rockhold, same as machida when he fought Chris.
I respect the hell out of them for fighting at lhw despite their size, but guys around their size these days are trying to get down to welterweight.
I am of the opinion that a guy like machida is a more skilled fighter than a Weidman but the size difference puts Chris over, and that's just as much a part of modern mma as the fight.

No disrespect to rockhold and Weidman I just think shogun would still be small compared to those two guys.

Machida or Hendo against Johny Hendricks seems like it would be kind of a stupid matchup and no more "fair" than Machida vs Weidman.
Shogun, like Machida before him, is fighting at the wrong weight class. With the belly fat he carries, I have no doubt he could make weight at 185.
He would probably win a few, lose a few. But he is my favourite fighter and I really hope he retires. As a fight fan I seem to get emotionally tied to certain fighters and seeing shogun knocked out is hard to watch. I worry for his long term health
