Hi
Has anyone ordered from
http://www.birdsjudoshop.com
Are they reliable?
Thanks
I found them very reliable and efficient and certainly a good bang for the buck.
Just be aware that their products feature almost exclusively the matches of Japanese competitors. You may not even see the gold medal match if there is not a Japanese competitor in it.
I've ordered from them before, excellent service.
I've ordered from them before.
The Cons:
Don't expect a high quality edited video. I've heard that somebody is recording matches from Japanese TV, and piecing them together without commercials. All commentary and graphics are in Japanese. Don't expect to see every matchup a particular class, unless the Japanese player made it to the Gold Medal round. They often show the same matches twice on a DVD. You never really know what to expect when you get a DVD.
The Pro's:
It's cheap. The video picture quality is generally very good. It's content you can't get in North America. They are very prompt and accurate with your order. I have neve had any problems with customer service or funny business with overcharging/credit card fraud.
I will definitely order from them again.

I've ordered from them several times with no problems.
I second what the others are saying re: pros and cons.
Overall, great bang for the buck.
Thanks guys
Can you just tell me which of those DVD's feature Yoshida?
Thanks again
I don't think you will find him on any of the DVD's offered; most of them are fairly recent. Yoshida's era was the 90's
On the VCD's he should be on the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. I don't think he medaled in Atlanta in 1996 but won at the 1999 Worlds in Birmingham.
Thanks Sojourner
You should be able to find some great slo mo closeups of Yoshida's arm being broken at the 2000 Olympics.
