I think the answer is an obvious yes. Deadly finishes over Struve and Kongo. Did better against JDS than anyone else in the UFC not named Cain ever has (by far). And drew with the #4.
I'm honestly fine with him right behind Werdum.
Now that DC is out of the weight class, I think the only people you can really justify picking over him are Cain, Bigfoot, JDS, Werdum and Josh

I'd love to see Hunt as high as #5 but realistically ... Browne has beaten Overeem and Gonzaga lately, Mir is Mir, Josh beat Mir and Hunt has a draw with Bigfoot and a win over Struve.
So #9? Sure. Above that would be a stretch.

Think about it another way: his only loss in a while was JDS and he drew with the #4 guy. No reason he shouldn't be there with him.
I would place Hunto at #7 on that list.

kevsh -Agree with all of this except "Mir is Mir". Mir's recent performances do not merit a top 10 ranking or at most he should be at the very bottom of the top 10.
