I am a "Bandwagon Fan"

I root for the good teams. I root for the good players. I enjoy watching excellence. I prefer seeing talent, skill, and hard work win out over emotion and luck.

I quit being loyal to teams years ago. I was a Yankees fan and Cowboys fan, yet I disliked Jerry Jones and George Steinbrenner. When you cheer for pro teams, you cheer for the owners. The players come and go. The owners ARE the team. Thus, I stopped rooting for said teams. However, I did find myself enjoying both teams last year.

College is different, sort of. It's OK to cheer for your Alma mater. But it makes no sense to cheer for a college you have no ties to.

Basically, if a team sucks or is mediocre, I don't enjoy watching them. I don't like mediocre players. I enjoy watching the best. I root for the best.

I root for Cleveland and Golden State in the NBA. I cheer for the Patriots in the NFL. I like Duke in college basketball. Alabama in college football. And as soon as these teams fall from the top, I'll stop rooting for them.

Yeah, I'm one of those fans. But there is logic behind being a bandwagon fan. Probably more logic than being blindly loyal to a bunch of rich guys.

Sounds pretty gay.

You go girl!

At least you admit as much. That’s better than most.

Now if people would admit they chose "their team" based on colors and logos....

I don't get staying loyal to teams you have no ties to.

I know people here in the south who are San Francisco 49er fans because of Montana and Rice. That was 30 years ago. Move on.

Cowboy fans are everywhere. That team has been stagnant and boring for 20 years now. Why do you stick with them? Do you just love Jerry Jones?

You're allowed to do that, but no one is going to respect you.

So basically a jailhouse rat with no teeth.

So you say that it doesn’t make sense to cheer for a college team you have no ties to but you like Alabama and Duke? Did you attend both? No

i root for them because they are good year in and year out. If that changes, I will stop rooting for them. I am not interested in supporting bad programs.

Rooting for the home team is acceptable. You can find ties connecting your own situation with the success of the local team.

Rooting for a non local team that sucks just makes no sense at all.

I love the depths people cling to sports team loyalty.  It's so strange and comically sad.

Oh you were a fan of "your" team when they sucked? Congrats! That means fucking nothing.

Some people have loyalty to their homes, and the franchises that economically support their friends and family.

Through thick and thin the last two years I have been a die hard Golden state warriors fan.
