Can you work?

I spent years working in national parks and ski resorts. Most of them provide housing and food for a stipend of your paycheck. Great way to get back on your feet if nothing else as they offer seasonal agreements and you can collect unemployment at the end of the season.

If you’re interested check out www.coolworks.com and poke around a little. They have a great search function and have a section for jobs wanted right now, seasonal jobs, national park jobs, year round, etc…

Hit me up if you have any questions. I worked in that industry for 14 years.

Great advice for anyone down on their luck. Can go from homeless to getting laid pretty quick

I knew a guy that was a shitty line cook and took one of these type jobs at resort and ended up making Chef Di Partie. If that fucking dolt could do that, anyone can make it at one of those places.

OP. For the love of all that is good and holy, you can come and complain on here all you want, just don’t be vague and answer peoples’ questions.

They just want you to have a pulse and show up.

Any kind of competence or sobriety is considered a bonus.

I was a seasonal line cook and then chef for years too. Some of those dudes that come on board just for housing are terrible.

Nothing good can come from forcing dudes that have burned every last bridge where they are from into living/working together 24 hrs a day.ive seen guys pull themselves up using seasonal work too though.

Redbananas seems like a good bloke though that just needs an opportunity to appreciate the finer things/fruit based condiments in life

They got a bunch of good shit they need people for now.

Grand Canyon is hiring, Bryce Canyon, Moab and Big Bend? Those are some excellent locations.

Damn, only one posting in Kentucky. And it sounds pretty culty lol.

Christian Ministry in the National Park. Bleah.

The girls show up virgins and leave…not.

The guys are generally creepy.

Their job is to provide religious services to the employees in the parks who want to attend religious activities and do bible study, etc…

Usually nobody goes to that shit so they end up joining us at the parties instead.

Any reason you are focused on KY? If you are, take a look at Mammoth Caves closer to summer when they are more active.

KY isn’t really the best place for resorts but if you’re willing to travel even a couple of hundred miles you have a lot around you.

Any place in particular you want to go and any jobs you want in particular?

For people who don’t mind waiting a few weeks, this is a good time to apply for summer jobs. Most of those will be starting around May.

You have been here for about 25 days so I will tell you how this usually goes. You will be asked questions, some people may extend an olive branch, but probably not much before the questions are answered. Lots of people will offer suggestions. If it turns out you just want money or trying to scam the collective OG will figure it out, if you are really down on your luck, my experience is they will help out where they can. Good luck to your situation sounds tough
