I am now for refunding the Police

It turns out, this really mostly means kicking out the corrupt unions for non-union cops which helps reduce the corruption and hiding of police crimes

I am sure there. Is a debate to be had but unions are not always a good answer to labor issues esp when the public interest is trodden on

Public sector unions hurt the public.

How exactly are you gonna refund them?

Unions are fucking horrible.

That's my contribution to this thread.

Are we still going on about Camden?

Also, The New Yorker, has gone the way of the Grey Lady.

It is a shame, but three of my favorite periodicals have gone full retard with the politics and lost all the attributes that made me love reading them:

The New York Times

The New Yorker

The Atlantic

Also, "Defunding the police" has a different definition depending on who you talk too.

If you ask AOC or the city council in NYC, it most certainly does NOT mean union reform. That is what they did in Camden, and it wasn't defunding, and I don't think you want to use Camden as a role model.

In defunding the police they want to cut down the headcounts dramatically and create response teams of social workers and community activists.

Great video on this topic for OP

Accountability, it's free!

However, nobody ever seems willing to do the work of getting to the real problem and doing what it takes to correct it.

So this will be another dem backfire - unions support dems.

hahahahahahah!!!1

all i can see is the crime rate through the roof in those cities and states

Will be interesting to see how the left go about smashing a union up without stirring a hornets nest within their own party.

Uh huh. And why don't we want the camden model?  I don't think you know anything about it, infact, I'd say you're taking out of your ass.

Camden changed things up in 2013 and since then

"According to the department, the City of Camden has seen a 70% decrease in homicides and a 46% drop in violent crime over the past 7 years. "

Keep in mind ass well, in Camden they didn't "kick out corrupt cops", they went to a County based PD and hired all the City PD. It is the same officers.

They also DOUBLED the police presence on the street, they didn't reduce police presence and move to a community activist/social worker/interventionist type of response.

Nope. They only hired  ten officers back.  They used it as an opportunity to clean house and change the rules going forward.

You think the democratic party is going to disolve the unions who vote democriminal every freaking election since forever?

5 people shot in Atlanta this weekened. Finally they are calling in the national guard.

They really need to get rid of that prosecuting attorny and mayor. Because of them a 5 people are dead inluding a young child.

Exactly... The Dems are, as per usual, going at something erratically and with short sightedness

I am a party to a public sector union even though I believe they are not “needed”.

I do enjoy the good pay but believe they should be done away with.  But I love my pension....
