Matchup wise Reem is Mir's nightmare, striking and size aside, Reem is also 2005 ADCC European Champion, and with elder brother being Valentijn Overeem, I don't think Mir can just walk through him even on the ground. It would be a worse beating for Mir than Lesnar II.
I don't think invoking Valentine's name gets many points, particularly after his last few outings...

Good for training though, kinda like Kang these days, I've heard great things about him being a coach, while he keeps losing all the time now.
Damaynevent - Mir intentionally tries to breaks limbs when he goes for a submission. He's said in the past that even after the refs stop him he likes to hold on to the submission a second or two longer just so his opponent knows it's over.
Source?
He said it in one of the oldschool promos before his fight....
Just an interesting note, Mir started his JJ under Ricardo Pieres, under the close eye of Sergio Penha. Look at the fighters who have trained under Penha, there's a long line of very aggressive JJ players in MMA who look to take that limb home with them. Penha is NO JOKE and is VASTLY overlooked and underrated as a coach in MMA IMO.

He beat a few purple belts to win the 2005 ADCC European title. No high-level guys.
Matt Phillips - Frank Mir is a sick and twisted individual, unfortunately after you fight him, so are your limbs.
There seemed like plenty of time for Nog to tap. Nog wasn't going to tap to that submission so it left Mir little choice. It wasn't like he did it quick and violent.
Pride Never Died - I've always thought that if there is an MMA Serial Killer it's Mir. He has a weird stare, he talks so directly and rarely shows emotion. He gets angry but not like a human, his voice rarely changes. I think he eats people, especially their arms.
QFT. Can't think of many other fighters that seem to enjoy hurting people quite like Mir does. Also he has creepy dead eyes.

This is why I love watching Mir fight. Most fighters will try to say they're just out to fight and do no serious harm. Not Mir. He basically just said "I did it before, I just did it again, and I'll do it in the future." The man is always out to fuck someone's world up.
