I am not catholic so the whole sainthood thing doesn't make sense to me but from what I know it is not everyday that someone becomes a saint so for Hawaii it is almost as big as Obama becoming president and Bryan Clay wining a gold medal or the Waipio team winning the little league world series
I was looking forward to watching SNL for the first time in a months but I found that ALL channels had Fr Damiane's sainthood. Can't they just put it on one channel?
Better yet they could have put it on youtube and if someone gave a damn they could got to the site and watch it. That way noones show get cancelled that night to watch Le'Poo.

Sainthood doesn't happen very often - so that's why it's all over the news. Also, people know about the war, the tanking economy - they don't want to hear about it anymore. It's a dull beam of light in some shitty times.

typical weak journalism, expend resources on soft journalism because the public laps up these kinds of human interest stories. hard stories delving into the nitty-gritty of issues just confuses the masses......ever notice they love to focus on the H.I. side and only touch the surface of of the issue?

my observations....the intellect of most in journalism is dismal, broadcast even moreso. depth in stories requires understanding, critical thinking and time. all three are pretty fukin lacking imo.
