SC MMA MD - Congratulations! Tell the story- who from and how long have you been training?

I've been trying for right on 11 years, my instructor Tony Morris is a Black belt under John Will. He said he wanted to grade me to Black sometime this year but wanted me to train with John a few times before he did. We headed down last night for a no Gi session and bowed in in the Gi tops and rolled the last 15 minutes in them also (after previous rolling no Gi).

John graded one of his students to purple and then asked Tony to go up. It was about that time I thought "hmmm what's going on here" a few minutes later I had black belt around my waste. It's still very strange thinking about it now.
