Roy, This is an amazing story. I did not realize that a 3rd degree black belt could be dominated so much by a 7th degree especially a man of your caliper. This is a very humbling experience even for those who are no where near black belt stature. I hope I will always remember this story as I get better, I need to remember this story.

while I may have skills on the mat, the water.............well let's just say
that I don't even have a white belt. I'm probably just a clear belt.
To those of you who think I am being modest, please know that
Professor Moreira shocked me with his performance. I mean, I have
been his student for eleven years now. I felt I knew his game fairly well.
I had done fairly well in the past, but his new game was a total surprise
to me! I had not been manhandled like that in a long time and I did not
expect to be handled like that. And, I did not expect for him to say I
am not "Putting enough pressure" on him when I pass.
Let me share something with you that most people reading this forum
do not know: I have broken people's ribs passing their guard and
holding them down. That's how much pressure I exert when I pass.
And for my instructor to tell me I am not putting enough pressure
on................well, it was quite a surprise!
So, for all of you who have wrestled with me in the past and have felt
the pressure of my top game, be prepared for a new Roy Harris. I am
working hard on increasing the power of my pull and my drive. I plan
to have an entirely new game by mid-2005!
