I've had a nagging neck/back injury that flares up in training, but I try to work through it. Lately it's been pretty brutal, so I went to the chiropractor today and he said there's a pulled tendon and that the surrounding tissue was really knotted up with scar tissue. They have a guy on site that does deep tissue work and he wanted me to do a session with him before he adjusted me. He warned me that it wasn't going to be fun, but I thought I've had some deep tissue done before and it couldn't be that bad. Holy fuck was I wrong.
Incredibly painful shit. It was really hard to breathe during some of it, but after it was over I definitely feel like he loosened a lot of the area up.
There's a big difference between the deep tissue you get at a spa and what you get at a good sports medicine place.
I think it would probably be smart to do something like this for maintenance on a regular basis.
Did it have a happy ending?
Sorry, had to ask.
CDO - LOL at your problems Joe. Could you sound anymore elitist?
Boo hoo the premium medical treatment I receive is uncomfortable.

Pat, is that you?
Doesn't sound like anything a THC lollipop couldn't handle Joe.
Lower back or upper back? I have a nagging thing like that myself. Usually flares up during deadlifts.
Yeah, I smoke herbs to ease my pains, i don't have medical insurance.
im gonna see if my girlfriend can get something like that - she was in a car accident and always nags me for massages but I suck at it.
Joe Rogan -True statement.

I had one this morning as well. It was miserable at the time but feels great now.
Joe,
Look into Active Release Techniques. It is a soft tissue manipulation my chiro does. He told me it was developed for Ironman Triathletes. It works the knots out and really works. It also hurts like hell. I have been on the brink of tears many times with some of my back issues.
If you want real pain try rolfing style massage Joe.
chiropractic is a bunch of hogwash
I hope those quacks aren't making your situation worse

I had a similar issue about six weeks back, with my lower back area. Had a woman do the same thing to me, and I was actually tearing up during parts. It was incredibly painful but worked wonders for me. You should be feeling better soon my man.
I had a serious knot in my WRONG FORUM ASSHOLE. Deep tissue massage worked great for me.
That's right, Joe....I said it.
I know what you mean , I got one time when I was injured ,they called it Rolfing, it was hard to get through the whole hour. It was a lot like torture.
did you feel "it" move?

I know what you mean man. I'm jealous too but Joe works for what he gets. He deserves it. I will always have one thing on him though. I'm 6'2", you can't workout height.
Cool story bro.
