2 days after deviated septum operation
I know a lot of guys involved in martial arts have a deviated septum problem, and I've personally put off getting mind fixed for years because I was worried about the recovery and downtime, so I thought I would put up a video. I had the operation 2 days ago.
Whoa, you look like Hell, Joe.
Did you have them shave a bit off the sides while you were under?
Glad it worked out

it'll look exactly the same, but the inside is much more open, and he trimmed the turbinate bones to open up the air passage more.
right before 100? oh man
my wife has a deviated septum. can't breathe well at all. she's always been afraid of the operation.
did your doctor tell you if your voice will be permanently effected Joe?
cole gave me some lip about carrying out the trash a couple years ago. He had to get his nose done as well. So there, he can thank me for the genetics and a nose job.
That is all.
T-love
ps im glad it went well joe.
Stop lying Joe... it's all the blow.

Nice...thanks for the video; please keep us updated, as I've been considering the same procedure.
Does the operation affect the strength of your nose next time you get punched there?
Does it weaken your nose at all?
I've been thinking about having the operation. Any feedback would be appreciated, it would be nice to breathe again.

it shouldn't, and honestly noses are pretty weak to begin with.
I had a lot of stuff in there that had to be cleared out from years of knocks. It already feels better, and it's filled with snot, blood and swelling.
Had mine fixed almost 10 years ago and the recovery fucking sucked big time. Still glad I did it though and would do it again. I think recovery time may depend upon how bad your septum was deviated in the 1st place. I'd be interested in hearing how Rich Frankin's recovery was after Anderson Silva deviated his septum for him. That had to be bad.
Joe, did you have problems flying? Before my surgery I couldn't stand flying for more than an hour cuz my head felt like it was going to fucking explode. Since the operation I never had a problem with it.
Rogan get well soon. Hope to hear ya on UFC 100
That tips it for me. Broke my nose on the ice as a kid (face first, no hands) and the right side has never been the same. I'm gonna do it!
You're going to sound a little different now aren't you?
he breaks his UFC game into pieces because it's not realistic now
Thanks Joe.....you careless bastard!
coke
does that mean you will have better cardio and will fight in the ufc?
I had mine fixed about 8 weeks ago. I have already noticed an improvement. I returned to sparring this week and started rolling again after about a month. My recovery was relatively quick, but only because I opted not to re-break my nose. I was told by my doc the recovery is about twice as long.
