Cool, will be rooting for the kid.
Holy fuck you remember Wings of Glory!?!?!?!?
I went to middle school in the late 80's at Schimelpfenig down the street, and my best friend and i would ride our bikes there after school and perform feats of courage with the hot wings.
You just melted my brain.
Wings of glory!! Uniting people in 2013!!!!
Seriously though, suicide wings was one of the tastiest foods I've ever had. I salivate when I think specifically about them. Dang I want some wings now.
Not only do I remember Wings of Glory, but I remember most of the time the lady who helped me worked their all the time, and she was a big black lady. Very nice.
Dude is fighting Sergio Pettis UFC 185 in Dallas!!!
took his last fight on two weeks notice with a broken hand, still fought to a split decision and won fight of the night.
Look out Pettis!!
Pettis seems like a safe bet for 185, as long as the first name is Anthony.
War Ryan Benoit!!!!
Ryan Benoit, he kicks ass
D241 -You called it, voted up

i'm not sure what 1 from 2 means, but what i meant was "anthony" seems like a safe bet for 185, but not "sergio" pettis.
I was confident Ryan was going to win, but I was also confident Showtime was going to win. I was right, and I was wrong.
I know Ryan and I hope he does really well in the Ufc! Beating Sergio Pettis is a step in the right direction.
The first minute of the video is what I want in ALL fighters. Bushido, toughness, warrior spirit. I'm so fucking happy this guy comes from my neck of the woods.
You were in early on this ass kicker
I've met a few local Dallas area fighters. I don't know Ryan personally, but I got to see him up close a few times at octagon mma and naga and saekson's. He had that "it" factor that made him stand out. Something about this guy that screams he's due for big things.
His "loss" against Josh was taken on less than 2 weeks notice, fought with a broken hand going in, and STILL managed to get FOTN.
His loss before that was one of those close fights that could've gone either way, or been a draw.
Not many 125ers have knockout power, but he for sure has it.
He's a warrior man!

Ryan is a warrior! Great thread. VU OP...
I bet on him simply because of this thread.
20 bucks turned into over 100. Thank you sir.

That's fucking AWESOME DUDE!!
During round 1 it wasn't looking good, but I still had confidence. People around me didn't know much about either fighter, and I told them that Sergio is a little tighter/straight with his striking technique, where as Ryan tends to go for broke over technique....
But I also told them that when Ryan gets hit and/or has the fight going in his opponents favor, that's when the "dog" in him comes out. The dude does NOT fight to win rounds, he fights to show one man(his opponent) that HE is the alpha between the two. I just knew when Ryan got his opponent to have an exchange with him, that Ryan would come out on top.
Sergio needed to stick and move, win the fight by winning rounds(something I LOATHE about the sport). Ryan's best chances are to make it a fight with whomever he's fighting. All fighters have some level of Bushido to do what they do, but some have it more than others, Ryan is one of em.
In 35 combined fights, the Pettis brothers have NEVER been knocked out......until Ryan Benoit
What's funny is I would've thought Ryan would have tried to gameplan this fight going to the ground.
I told you guys, he's a DOG!! He comes to finish. He smells blood, he gets in Wanderlei Silva mode.
