not at all. Michigan has a very large middle eastern population that loves soccer. When I watched the news thats what I mostly saw, that and mexicans, one guy said he drove from Mexico City just to watch the game.
If my Facebook wall is a scientific sample, everyone that went either is a Mexican, Arab, or went with a Mexican or Arab.
But soccer is becoming more popular.
The Yanks will obviously show up to watch world class football.

We have Mexican town and dearborn (largest middle eastern population in the country). Plus a ton of people flew in to see the game.

it is only during junior high and high school that the best athletes move on to different sports
it isn't like most Americans are ignorant about the game
