I Thought Jacare Should've Gotten the Nod

The stats tell the story for sure people come to reality the man lost to a guy you meet yesterday Phone Post

I'm a jacare fan but I thought 2 judges got it right 3-2 for Rockhold.

That 50-45 judge should be killed on live tv.

I am changing my mind. I just watched it again and I have it 3rnds. Rockhold (rnds. 3 4 & 5) to 2 ( 1&2) to Jacare.

and the stats were waaay skewed to Rockhold. You'd have to give a takedown and a quick standup about the equivalent of 15 strikes landed(punch/kick) for this to have gone in Jacare's favor. Maybe a little more. Clear 3 rounds to 2 for Rockhold. The jackass that scored it 50-45 is a tard and took away some of the integrity of the overall judging.

anyone who thought jacare won, is extremely biased or blind

I scored it 48-47 rockhold. I believe two judges did as well. Jacare won first two rounds then faded. Phone Post

It was a close decision from 2/3 judges, 1 was smoking crack though.

I like how a guy loses a round where he drops and stuns the other guy. And everything else was even, just because you are throwing more shots dosent mean you are winning.

That's kind of my point. The funny thing is that I was rooting for Rockhold. But I'm just one of those straight-up, objective people. If my brother or teammate fought and I thought they lost... and they asked me to tell them what I thought... I'd be totally honest. "You did great, man, and I'm proud of you, but I thought you did lose marginally. However, I know you have the potential to beat him, especially if you tweak your training a bit." So please don't think this is a 'bash Rockhold' thread. He fought his heart out and I'm a big fan. Phone Post

Kostakio - I'm not saying Jacare beat up Rockhold and that it wasn't even competitive. What I am saying is that I think that Jacare came closer to finishing the fight than Rockhold ever did and he won rounds 1, 2, and 4 clearly. It should've been a 48-47 decision win for Jacare or a draw at best, imho.

Plus you have to beat the champion. I didn't think Luke did that.
there is nothing in the rules that says "you have to beat the champion" to win.

if u didnt have Jacare winning the first round you should not be a judge.Very close fight

Really? I will have to look that up.

warheart209 - This is what happeneds when you fight like Gabriel Gonzaga and forget that BJJ got you this far..Jacare thought he was K-1 Jacare and failed.

You must have missed the multiple times Jacare took him down and tried to keep him down.

Try watching the whole fight next time.

Rockholds stubborn ability to force himself back up does not negate the fact that he was taken down multiple times.

gavinknowles - The fight was close, but rockhold was the one pursuing and pressing action. Don't agree with the UD but I honestly thought he haired out a split decision. Jacare did do more 'damage' in a few rounds but because of rockhold stalking and mixing in the kicks and punches(combinations sold the judges) he got by

Don't agree with a UD but think he haired out a split? People say this stuff a lot and you obviously don't understand what a split decision is.

3 judges score the fight. If 2 score for fighter A and the 3rd scores for fighter B then its a split. The judges do not discuss it with each other. They don't score "unanimous decision" or "split decision", it just turned into a split if they don't agree.

You can't score a fight a split decision! And a fight being unanimous doesn't tell anything about how close it was. The closest fights of all time could be UDs.

Also, to everyone who says "you have to beat the champ to be the champ"....THAT'S NOT TRUE. It isn't a real rule. It might be someones OPINION, but the judges score the rounds in championship fights the same way they score ANY OTHER FIGHT.
