Where did the notion come from that GOAT should be decided by looking at a piece of paper with Ws and Ls on it, and that actually seeing the person compete and watching their skills on display somehow is entirely irrelevant?

I see what you guys are saying, but witnessing what Anderson has done in the octagon is just amazing. His highlight reel is far superior to GSP's. And if Chael does win their fight, you can't say that all wrestlers beat Anderson, hence Dan Henderson. Win or lose, Anderson is one of the greatest MMA fighters ever and I'm grateful to watch him. Cause in 20 yrs my kids will be looking up footage and asking about him just like I did about Ali.

Someone who's more dangerous standing and on the ground, like Condit or Diaz, is certainly not a good matchup for GSP. Who exactly is Anderson's bad matchup? Chael, whom he beat and will beat again more easily in a couple weeks?
But, anyway, you just proved my point -- you don't think the display of skill in the ring is actually relevant. There's a reason it's called "Greatest of All Time" and not "Best Record of All Time" or "Most Well-rounded Skillset of All Time".

I like GSP. I think he is awesome, but to be honest again. He has been dodging Anderson for a long time now. Now that he has had an injury its going to be tough to beat him now. I really would like to see how GSP handles his injury. I know Tito was never the same.
