If BJ never fought again....

He'd still be my favorite fighter.... he'd still be the reason why I got into getting into shape (with MMA and other methods)... I am a nut hugger, fine.  BJ Penn is MMA to me.

If he fought again it would make me very happy.  If he didn't the story would not change.

Thank you BJ.

fuck yea that dude is a dog he always came to fight

I'm sad...

Being a Penn fan (long time hugger and member of BJPenn.com before he started yelling it in post fight interviews) is never easy. We've seen some of the highest highs and some of the lowest lows. But I wouldn't trade any of it.

Huggers like us have brought the ire of many MMA enthusiasts because we often treated him more like an indestructible Polynesian deity than a high level, very much human, cage fighter. Still, and I know I'll get flamed for this but I stand by its truth, BJ Penn is the reason people talk about P4P in MMA, whether you ever believed he was or wasn't.

Check out my "Remembering BJ Penn" thread. Such an emotional fighter, such a throw back (if such a phrase has a place in a burgeoning sport), such a talented martial artist.

There will be only one. Phone Post

Quoted for fucking truth and VTFU.
BJ is the reason i got into MMA and win, lose, or draw, will ALWAYS be a fan.
His desire to be the best and passion to fight remains unparalleled.
He will always inspire me.
If he retires, it will be a truly special moment.

Wanderlei Silva is the reason I got into MMA, but BJ Penn is definitely my favorite fighter ever with no close second. Not a nut hugger.

A BJ while watching a BJ Penn fight.. A true utopia. I like the sound of that. Phone Post

WAR BJ Penn..

BJ is a true fighter, maybe he wasn't the greatest athlete and maybe his commitment to training was lacking but BJ was (and still is) a real fighter at heart. The kind of guy who would be knocking on your front door if he knew you wanted to fight him. He fought at lightweight and everything in between up to light heavy. He's the kind of guy you want next to you in a street fight, will always be one of the all time greats. Phone Post
