as for underwear, champion boxers are the best i’ve found currently. i had a thread on undies and most of them feel like contraptions intended to make you uncomfortable. i used to wear tommy hilfiger but they changed and aren’t comfortable anymore. after trying about 10 different brands, i’m happy with these:

Gildan soft spun something or other.

I was a white sock snob for most of my life until about 5 years ago when I discovered merino wool socks. They are better in every way.

I like the cheapest knee high black socks I can find. Also Hanes tighty whities. They have the best waistband to tuck my shirts into.

As may have said, wool socks. If you have no objection to cost alpaca hiking socks are the best.
