.....does his ranking in the GOAT debate improve or stay where it is?
It won't go up because no one will give him credit for defeating Bisping. Most people believe Bisping is a weak champion as it is.
Improve. Not even debatable imo.
Of coarse it goes up
Think about Bisping's resume if he wins. He will hold W's over Dan Henderson, GSP and Anderson Silva.
BreakALegAndy! -Maybe he passes Hendo for 3rd?
If Bisping wins he should land the GOAT throne of all. That would land him wins over 3 or the top 4 GOATs
Two way past their prime and then GSP from a weight division lower?

A lot worse if he loses. Fighting a smaller fighter that has been inactive for quite a while.
Kind of like how bad he looked fighting an old man lol.

GSP is already ahead of Henderson.
I know everybody loves Hendo, but let's not let that clout our judgement.
Raistlin - It won't go up because no one will give him credit for defeating Bisping. Most people believe Bisping is a weak champion as it is.This.... this fight makes absolutely no sense. No real reward. He wins and he gets no credit, then gets crushed by anyone else in the top 5 of the division...im baffled by this fight
BreakALegAndy! -Hendo's great but he was never the undisputed best at any weightclass. Even his pride title wins he followed up with losses in his next fight right afterward. He has a career of ups and downs with several questionable dec. wins scattered throughout. No sustained length of dominance like gsp had either.RKing85 -BreakALegAndy! -Maybe he passes Hendo for 3rd?

Hendo has fought the best fighters in the world in 3 different weights classes and been very successful. He has beaten champions in every weight class in multiple organizations , let's not forget he slept Fedor while moving up 2 weight divisions above his natural weight class. Hendo always looking to fight the beat in the world.
GSP was on an impressive streak, but when is the last time he finished a fight? Is he even capable anymore? Hendo was still sleeping people at what, 45? GSP was offered multiple chances to move up to fight the beat but declined. Hendo moves up not one but two divisions and KO's Fedor.
... if he wins he going to retire again. Because there's no way the cherry picker will fight Yoel romero.
Come on people enough with the gsp hype. This guy has proven he is a hypocrite and right now full of fear. He avoided Anderson Silva for many years because of the weight difference now he is happy to go up to middleweight?? Only because he believes bisping won't knock his head off his shoulders like Woodley would.
... then defends it against anderson.

This is exactly what I thought. What if he beats bushing? Then what? Fight Romero? No! I am hoping for a gsp win just to see what happens... probably make gsp v Conor for the 205 interim...

Hendo has fought tougher opponents than GSP his entire career, and he has done it in 3 different weight classes.
Yes GSP had a great run in the UFC, but he also didn't face the type of competition Hendo did, and he never challenged himself against tougher competition when the opportunities presented themselves, moving weight divisions, up or down(always claimed he could make 155). GSP is also a decision machine, Hendo was still able to finish fights at 45 or 46?
45 year old Hendo KO'd Lombard stiff, out cold. How would 35 year old GSP do against Lombard?
Hendo is a gamer and a legend but you can absolutely not put him ahead of GSP as far as best ever talk goes
Fedor was prime in like 2005, go back and watch when he used to take people down and had the most brutal ground and pound known to man.
for some reason he became a kickboxer while he got old and it became hard to watch.
Fedor GSP Anderson
in that order.
If he wins the MW belt he is fucked, what's he going to do against Joel?

You are making the case AGAINST Georges but the case against Dan is that he never had a big run like Fedor, GSP, Anderson did and he never cleaned out a division.
Personally I think the cleaning out of a division and having a decade long run weighs heavier. Dan sits at #4 on my list. Definitely behind Anderson because of the head to head AND because Anderson also tested himself in 3 divisions and won belts at 2 like Dan.
I honestly think right now it is like this:
1)Fedor
2)Jones
3)Silva
4)GSP
Fedor's legacy is done. Silva's legacy is done. Jones has already surpassed Silva imo. Jones will likely pass Fedor soon if he can just stay sober and win a couple more.
GSP jumps to number 2 with a MW title win and can grab number 1 spot with a couple defenses
Johnzandt -.....does his ranking in the GOAT debate improve or stay where it is?
He will absolutely win the belt and then be the GOAT no question.

I fucked up my rankings. Dan sits 5th in my rankings OAT. Jones is #1 or #2 on my list
GSP
Bones
Silva
Fedor
Conor
