everyone keeps talking about title shots and who is deserving wheither it be Frankie or Connor who's next for Aldo. As of last night we all know Connor is next in line and I'm seeing a lot of when connor beats aldo he will fight Frankie. While that is good in theory do you think they would just discard Aldo like that. Most everyother fighter who has been dominate such as Aldo has gotten an immediate rematch. If McGregor does happen to pull this off and take out Aldo, will the UFC schedule an Edgar/McGregor fight or would Aldo get a shot at redemption and put the line of contenders on hold for a while.
Nearly 10 years undefeated, he gets a rematch.
that's what i'm saying. he would defineatly be a shoe in for a rematch but everyone keeps saying when connor beats jose then they'll have a fresh title fight of Edgar/Mcgregor but i dont see that happening. IF he does pull it off we'd just have another McGregor/Aldo title fight and Edgar and the rest would be left to fight each other and possibly lose their spot in line.
Furthermore let's say Connor wins the first fight and the UFC gives Aldo a rematch and Aldo wins, then we'd be back to square one and have Edgar (or whomever)/Aldo
.
He will probably get a rematch unless he decides to switch weight class
If McGregor wins you can guarantee the rematch would be in a stadium in Ireland
Yes, he deserves a rematch as much as anyone should he lose but I'm sick to death of rematches and I wish that the UFC hadn't set that precedent as it really grinds a division to a halt for too long.
theINFAMOUScarpe -It's unfortunate that it's come to this imo. Where immediate rematches are automatically assumed, but the precedent has been set many times.
