would you still watch. If every fight was a decision? If every fight was decided purely by gameplan? If MMA becomes a game in which no one gets hurt? Would you still tune in to see who has the best technique? Because in reality fighters do jot have to fight. They do not have to engage. They do not have to throw with bad intentions.
Won't happen as long as there is a percentage of fighters that don't join Greg Jackson's team
I dunno. Would you still watch if every fight was two guys meeting in the center of the cage and swinging until one falls down?
It's not just about Jackson it is about human nature. Why risk injury or disfigurement when there is a points option. It's like production workers to run when they can walk and make their quota. Last night the guys that had the least financial incentive to fight hard, fought the hardest while the younger lower level guys didn't seem to put as much into it. Could it be the lower paid guys are worried about medical suspensions. Not a crazy theory just an honest question.

Not the point of the thread at all, but I would probably watch that it would be entertaining.
UFC still has monopoly so if it's starts trending that way them Dana will not reinforce that behavior by putting guys that engage on the card and berate those that don't. Won't happen.
Great thread btw

Yes

No
Thank you I think it is a legitimate concern. UFC fighters often fight like they are scared to lose and it is leading to more and more point fighting. In smaller orgs the fighters seem to fight way hungrier and that makes the for more exciting fights. I guess that could be attributed to less skilled fighters relying on brawling, but I can't believe that is all of it.
Sport vs spectacle divide
Go watch toughman
I thought it already did. I'm losing interest.
