If Rampage wins

Will it be good for the UFC?

Chack is a great fighter and a great poster boy.

If Rampage wins, I'm out a couple hundred bucks. Go Chuck!!!

We hear this every show.

It doesn't matter who wins as long as it's an exciting fight.

That wins more fans than anything else in the fight game.

Rampage is black?

Rampage winning = BLACK-on-BLAF crime

UFC wins either way. Chuck has been a great champion and Rampage is even more marketable.

Rampage could be the key to a whole new demographic if he wins.

Kevin Randleman
Maurice Smith

both champs
both black

noob

"If Rampage wins he will be the first black champion in the UFC"

Smith, Randleman and Silva.

lol

LOL @ "if"

hahah

lame.

Rampage is much more likeable in my opinion. His interviews are funny and he has a captivating personality. If he crushes Chuck he will become very popular. MMA fans are a rather fickle lot. There is no reason that Rampage couldn't become as popular as Chuck or even eclipse him in popularity.

Furthermore it opens up the division a little bit which I think will be good for the UFC.

"Smith, Randleman and Silva."

Silva's not black, he's Brazilian.

No. Chuck is UFC's (and by extension, the whole sport's) standard-bearer. He is the face of MMA in the U.S., and he has been built up and marketed extensively. Rampage has not.

Chuck has proven he is able to sell PPV's. Rampage has not.

Sometimes a challenger is able to steal the preexisting aura of the champion, depending on the charisma of that challenger and how he wins (like Chuck himself did with Randy).

But sometimes not (even after beating DLH, Mayweather is still nowhere near as big a draw as DLH).

This UFC constitutes all the marketing that Rampage needs. If he wins this, he'll be a huge draw for his next PPV fight.

right now, chack is the face of the UFC to mainstream america and casual mma fans....if we were talking about the old, more brash Rampage, then I would say yes, it would be bad if Rampage beat chuchk....but since rampage has toned it down a bit, he may be more palatable to the casual fan to the point that is might not make that much difference if he wins

Again, it depends on how the public receives the challenger based on his in-fight performance and, more importantly, his charisma and likeability.

Hopkins and Mayweather were the beneficiaries to astronomical paydays and long-awaited mass-exposure from tagging along to DLH's drawing power in huge PPV's.

Although they both became household names thanks to DLH, neither one is still a huge draw alone.

"Smith, Randleman and Silva."

Brazilian, IMO

lol @ first balck champ. Yves Edwards, Randleman, Silva, Mo Smith!
