If you like Turkish Get-Ups

I think you'll find this motivating:

Turkish Get-Up

Technical, beautiful, precise, and simply INSPIRING.

Something I'll definitely show the female clients who are addicted to the pink dumbbells...

A couple of nights ago I was channel surfing and came across some dancers doing there stuff. Well the guy goes down on the floor and his partner gets in a balanced pose....He does a TGU with this woman from lying on the floor all the way to standing with her over head. Impressive.

TAKU

 It's a man, baby!

no, in all seriousness - that was awesome

Excellent stuff!

That's gotta be somewhere around 2/3rds bodyweight I'd guess. Not only that but she actually controlled the weight all the way back down. Lots of people tend to sort of flop down from their hand.

Its alot more then 2/3rds of the bodyweight. Thats an 80lb kettlebell. And I doubt Pamela weighs 240lbs. Its more like a 1/2 bodyweight, if not more. I dont think she weights 160lbs. Great job! I struggle doing TGU's with a 20kg bell.

quick question, is it better to do TGU for reps with a not so good weight like 40lbs or just 1 each arm with max weight? for strenght training.

^^^For pure strength training, technique and load is more important than reps.

With correct technique, you can apply the same technique to other lifts and see great benefits.

With a med-heavy load, bracing/tightening is trained more directly, which also helps in strength maneuvers.

Higher rep TGU's are great for building work capacity and some strength, but for increasing RM's, I'd go heavy with correct technique.
