if you were running Strikeforce...

...and you had to throw the majority of you marketing resources towards only ONE of you HWs, who do you choose:

Fedor?

or

Alistair?

...and why?

Fedor. More likely to remain consistent in his badassery.

Overeem, because putting aside the fact that he will beat Fedor, his management are very easy to deal with, he's exciting as all hell, he's charismatic and he'll fight as often as you're willing to pay him

Fedor, because he already has that mystique and legendary status that nobody can follow.  Technically undefeated.   Doesen't look like superman but performs like one.  Your average Joe can relate with him  more because he's not yolked out like a body builder.  Just a way better investment in Fedor.

This is how I feel about Fedor but given how so many fans have become infatuated with an alpha-male type like Brock, isn't Alistair 'better for business?'

The REEM looks like a comic book character speaks English and is a freaking monster.

Lets think for a second what HW in the UFC has those same characteristics?

How is the heavy promotion they give him working out in PPV sales.

You Sr. are welcome

If I was the guy running it, I'd get liposuction on my Jowls :)

Justin

Quite honestly, though I believe Fedor to be the better fighter? Overeem. He comes with far less strings attached. Co Promotion is only good for business unless your name is M1.

Alistair. Because Fedor is uncontrollable and is not a good long term investment. All fighters on my payroll would be signed up to iron clad contracts that ensure they do as they are told. Fedor refuses to do this, so Fedor wouldn't be fighting in my org.

That depends, which guy has already been on TV in front of 6 million people?

Plus, as stated above, he will actually fight.  He already fights frequently.  Fedor fights once a year.

Fedor is P4P #1.  But M1 has done serious, perhaps irrevocable damage to Fedor's legacy.

Fedor

Fedor is a far easier sell with him being the greatest fighter of all time, the #1 HW in the world and never having been beaten. The only problem is his management and how they feel they can renegotiate any contract at any time they please.

I'd go with Fedor, because I think his ability to draw eyeballs makes up for the headaches between fights.

Legit LOL

When did this happen?

When he beat Mark Hunt? When he beat Zulu Jr.? When he beat Nagata(a totally fat pro wrestler)? When he beat UFC wash-outs?

Overeem, he fights more often, I am a Fedor fan but you may get 2 fights a year out of him if you're lucky, knowing Overeem, he probably will fight Big Foot between he Fedor match

When he's been the top ranked heavyweight in the world for the past seven years consecutively.

He beat:

Semmy Schilt - some rankings had him as top 10 when they fought.
Heath Herring - ranked top 5 when they fought.
Minotauro - ranked #1 the first fight, #2 the 2nd and 3rd fights.
Coleman - ranked top 10 the first fight.
Randleman - ranked top 10 when they fought.
Cro Cop - ranked #2 at the time.
Mark Hunt - ranked top 10 when they fought.
Tim Sylvia - ranked around #5 when they fought.
Andrei Arlovski - ranked #2 or #3 when they fought.
Brett Rogers - ranked top ten when they fought.

There have been at least four different #1 ranked lightweights since March 16, 2003.
Four different #1 welterweights.
At least four different #1 middleweights.
Eight different #1 ranked light heavyweights.
In that time period the #1 ranked heavyweight has remained the same.

That has to count for something.

The evolution of the EM posts is truly astonishing!
