I'll say it. That was weird.

Amazing takedown and triangle setup from certified badass Donald Cerrone...

The tap came awfully quick though...

I don't know what to think.

The angle wasn't great, the arm wasn't across, he wasn't pulling down the head and homeboy was tapping like a madman!

How good of a triangle does Cowboy have?!?! Phone Post 3.0

I don't think it looked tight. Phone Post 3.0

The leg wasn't straight across the shoulder, it was a weird fucking tap that's for sure. Though I am stoked for Cerrone. Phone Post 3.0

I think he hurt Brazilian cowboy's shoulder Phone Post 3.0

It was a fast tap. But I've experienced the same...

I've been in chokes that I had to tap in two seconds...I've been in seemingly tighter chokes and was able to relax and fight out...too many variables to say exactly why a guy might tap that quick Phone Post 3.0

Seems like he freaked out and tapped early. Nonetheless, he wasn't getting out. Cowboy had it locked in and they were still dry Phone Post 3.0

panic tap

wow

panic tap

That makes sense. Phone Post 3.0

Didn't realize it, but Oliveira is only a blue belt in BJJ. Not sure Cowboy's official rank, but he's surely brown belt level if not black.

It looked quick, but when a high level guy locks on his best sub on a blue belt, it's hard to be too suspicious. Phone Post 3.0

I figured he was hurt. Phone Post 3.0

Ahhhh

Ok! Disregard this thread guys.

I guess I just assume all Brazilians are black belts...

Mystery solved. Phone Post 3.0

Let's see if Oliviera gets the same amount of criticism that sage did for the quick tap. I won't hold my breath.

it was quick because the triangle started from mount, it was already tight the moment he turned him over.

That's not really how that works. Good theory though! Phone Post 3.0

oliviera has looked pretty sloppy in his other fights.  not really a shock that when he got matched up with a top guy, he got worked over, imo.

I'm sick of every good finish being dismissed as fixed. Phone Post 3.0

He doesn't have an official rank, but he is BB level for sure.
