Here is the problem in academia.....They push the idea that all "cultures" have worth. In fact they underlying tone is that most cultures are superior to the "white" judeo-christian, western culture. Therefore any attacks against other cultures are viewed as "racist" attacks.

This mentality is not just symptomatic of "rich and privileged", many in the academic world do not fit into this category....even th "white" category doesn't cover their ass. Our family immigrated to the US back in the 80's.
As a kid, my parents always taught us to take the best from each culture (meaning Taiwanese and "American").
