No. He might do better against 55ers, but it's to his advantage that this fight is at 170. McG shouldn't have accepted the first Diaz fight at ww and he shouldn't have done it now. Then again, fighting Mendez on short notice aften preparing for a striker was a risk too.

There's no evidence of this. Cerrone was within a fight of a welterweight title shot after his wins at 170 (that everyone apparently forgot). About as close to the lightweight title as he ever got.
Never won a title at any weight and had success at both. Hard to clearly state where he's better.

Cerrone might be better at 155 because he's not fighting 190+ lb people. A 170 lb fight against another 155er he will be in perfect shape imo.

He was losing at welterweight, dropped back down and went on another top 5 run.
Cowboy is 17-6 at LW in the UFC and spent his prime there.
He is 6-4 at WW.
All loses are to top fighters and he is getting up there in age so its tough to say he is better at one weight or another.
Cowboy is likely a perfect candidate for 165 lbs.

Shifting the blame on Cowboy looking depleted at 155lb is pure comedy. He just destroyed two damn good 155lb'ers. He lost 2 JG and TF, that's two of the elite. Conor makes no sense at all.. if the fight was for an unwarranted shot at another title, it should atleast have been contested within the division it's relevant to. And it's fucked up that the title offer is a one way street. Only one party in the fight stands to benefit from a victory. That's just more tilt on the table of fair playing field.

This is a good fight for both guys since they are both coming off losses. Only problem I have is that it's a number one contender fight for conor

This will be one of the best fights in UFC history. Conor, Zuffa, and the fans all think this is a tune up fight. Cowboy is gonna shock the world and show up and finish him.
Fighting at 170 is a pipedream. Can you imagine Usman vs. Conor? That would be more unfair than allowing men to fight women, no commission in the U.S. should ever sanction that fight.
