<p>The MMA soap opera of the moment seems to be whether or not Mirko Cro Cop has left the UFC to sign with DREAM. UFC President Dana White says he did; a translation of a Croatian newspaper story says he did not.<br />
One day in the near future we'll know the truth, but lost in the shuffle of whether or not White got screwed is Todd Duffee.
"Who is Todd Duffee?" you might ask.
Duffee is the UFC heavyweight who was originally scheduled to make his octagon debut and fight Mostapha Al-Turk at UFC 99 before Cro Cop made his ill-fated comeback text to White just about a month before the event. How official was the Duffee-Al Turk fight? UFC had it listed on its website, a step the company does not usually take until fights are signed.
however I still believe as a fan I have a gripe. Mirko can't find competition in Japan, and if he's interested in taking gimmes and finishing his career with nice paychecks and highlight reel KO's of Jose Canseco and Minowaman, more power to him.

Definitely sucks for Duffee but I'm sure he'll be on another card soon so at least it's not a total loss.
As for CC if he truly runs away to DREAM he's at least lost me as a fan, probably many others as well. Can't just lie to EVERYONE like that. Here's to hoping it's false.

Dude, there is conflicting reports of what is happening from both sides. Nothing is confirmed. You are looking for a reason to still bitch about the situation because you shot your mouth off prematurely like everyone else and are looking to justify it.
Just admit that you, like everyone else, doesn't have a fucking clue what is really going on, and will not have a clue until a formal announcement is made from either party.

Suppose Mirko agrees verbally to two more fights, and then Dana says they will be 1 per year, would Mirko be fucking over the fans for not accepting those terms? Or if Dana said he would pay him $50 a fight? I am exaggerating of course, but this situation is just about Mirko' intent, but also on the UFC making a competitive bona fide offer.

There is plenty of competition at HW outside the UFC. Did you forget that the UFCs HW division basically sucks compared to what is out there. Fedor, Barnett, Aleks, Overeem, Arlovski, Rogers, Verdum. Sorry its not a 3 -1 Brock Lesnar or one of the other "Elite" HWs with the UFC.
