Injury Diagnosis Please

Throwing right kicks to the body on a bag.  Shoes on hardwood.  Mid kick, the ball of my planted foot gets a little unexpected grip on the floor and as the rest of me is rotating it doesnt pivot. I feel a pop in my calf and drop immediately in pain.    That was 6 hrs ago.

Now, as long as keep it totally limp and immobile it is fine.  Roll around, it starts to burn a little.  Pull toes towards head extreme fucking pain in calf.

Calf is not deformed.

I can put weight on the ball of that foot, and move foot to perpendicular with my shin (feels sore.and stiff though).  Basically I cant walk.

Any guesses what I did?

Def gonna see a doc if no imrovement in morning.

Feels fine.  Pain in meat of calf muscle

Which height of the calf? Did it make a noice or you only heard it?

Its not clear if you can put weight on it. If you touch your claf is there any specific area that hurts a lot?

Small tear in the muscle. You'll need to limp around on it for a few weeks.

Feels like right in the middle of the calf.muscle

No sound

In the shower i.could balance myself on my one good leg,.and the toes.of the fucked up leg.  Not.full.weight, but there.was no pain

Hurts to.touch calf muscle. Pretty much the whole thing above my achiles tendon

Fuck right now lying in bed, every once in a while it threatens to cramp up.  Fuck me.

Can put weight on heel

My wife had a similar sound injury. It was a calf pull and required physical therapy. Rest and time was not enough.

I suggest putting zero weight on it until tomorrow in case you have a spiral fracture of the fibula.  If bellow the knee you are sure there is no swelling it’s less likely (although i’ve seen one that didnt swell once before). If you knock on your fibula with your knuckle, you’ll know :stuck_out_tongue:

Everything you've said indicates a medial gastrocnemius strain. Rest it, ice it, add compression and elevate it. You can take up to 3200mg ibuprofen daily just eat some food or drink some milk to protect your stomach. See a doc and get well soon.

Haha! Yeah, basically from the description you've torn a muscle in your calf.

Actually it's fine to do 800mg ibuprofen in one sitting, three times a day. Done it many's a time; google will corroborate. You can add 1000mg paracetamol if you need as there are no negative interactions. Wouldn't make a habit of it but under the circumstances it will take the edge off.

I can confirm that you can take 800mg three times a day, doctor had me do that for a few weeks because of a rotator cuff injury. I took it at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

But OP, make sure you see a doctor. Nothing sucks more than thinking you can rest it off and it gets significantly worse.
