Insert a stick of RAM upside-down, see if it works

Of course it doesn't work, dumbass! Can't you see the shiny pin connectors sticking UP instead of down? Are you blind or just a fucking moron? Why are you trying to force a stick of RAM upside-down, do you think it really requires that much force to fit it in right?

Counterpoint:

If you're so smart, why don't you crawl your fat ass down under this desk and do it your fucking self! I can't see shit! I can't even see where I'm plugging this shit because of all the dust and the bundles of wires. I'm groping around in this computer like I did with your mom!

i am entering the IT field and i can't wait for these priceless exchanges.

Insert it where?...Tell me in great detail.

Am I doing this right?

I hear if you install a stick of RAM upside down you can hear a message from the devil.

Nahhh. Add a little more thermal paste. Phone Post 3.0

Yeah but you have to hit F1 on reboot

Then keep going back to Best Buy until you happen to accidentally buy the right RAM. It's neither DDR2 nor DDR3, that should narrow it down enough for you to get it right in 2 or 3 more trips.

you guys should get Apple! Desktop's get viruses but Apple can't get a virus.

no kidding. do people read the directions.. hehe

seen a tech install it backwards

fucked up the ram and board

have no idea how he managed to get the ram in

needless to say he was let go

thirdleg - You should probably remove it from under the desk and have some sort of antistatic protection when installing the RAM.

Excellent point. Personally I think people should wear a cotton mask to filter out all the dust inside the computer, it's like a dirty air filter that's been trapping nasty shit for 2 years and you just open it up like an Egyptian tomb and inhale the curse of RAM-ses

Oh hello, have we met?

So true, and it's a fact that nobody has ever had a problem while adding RAM to a Mac.

What's mac? Is that like Apple?
