Just watched Inside The Edge: A Professional Blackjack Adventure on Amazon Prime...pretty good. I knew about card counting and a few other things, but there were some new strategies and techniques that I'd never heard of. Pretty fun watch if you've ever played blackjack.
Now I have to watch it. The town in Iowa that I live in has three casinos, the trailer showed footage from two of them. I spent almost sixteen years working at those three places.
I can tell you one thing from the trailer, anybody that stacks chips that high to make a bet on any table game is an asshole and is just trying to draw attention to themselves.

I’m at the wild rose casino pretty much every weekend. Oddly enough playing blackjack. Couldn’t imagine being a professional blackjack player though.

I am sceptical also…in one scene the chips are stacked red on green, no professional ever makes that mistake, ever.

But he’s trying to NOT look like a professional (so he doesn’t get kicked out)…so maybe that’s why he’s doing it?

playing 5$ and 25$ chips and trying to really make any money is a gonna be such a grind.......winning 200 or 300 a day if you play like that, grinding it out day over day......go ahead, getting a job working in a casino is better

I watched it this morning. It’s really well done. He talks about the three places I worked by name, which is what I was hoping for when I watched it.
He confirms that he was betting like that for a reason, and it kind of makes sense.
I’m not sure why it would be a mistake to stack the red on the green. Every casino I’ve worked in and been to does it that way. Smaller denomination on top, reds are $5, greens are $25.

Josh, it’s worth watching the entire thing. You’ll see that he’s not grinding a couple hundred a day. The bits in the trailer are a tiny part of the play.
Also clicked on "Others Also Watched" or something like that in the Amazon Prime App and it lists about 10 other gambling documentaries available to watch (poker, sports betting, etc).
