Just watched the Gracie instructional. Seems like they instruct a few things incorrectly on purpose.

Wondering if their seminars are simalar in fashion.

KINGY is correct.

I think you should avoid going to any Gracie seminars in future.

Or maybe do everyone a favour and go along and correct all their mistakes for them.

It's "Gracie Jiu Jitsu" so, if a Gracie is teaching it, it must be correct, by definition.

i'm not sure if you guys have seen it or not but their is even a bonus cd where helio says that they are showing the techniques wrong on purpose.

Thats the main reason why i mentioned it in the first place.

Kingy - wrong forum to discuss such matters mate. I used to think the same thing but some of the so called "wrong" stuff can be very effective if used as a matchplay strategy rather than a first & final technique. The push pull lapel choke from inside closed guard that Royce and (?)Rorion showed on one of the early Gracie intructionals is a sure fire way to get yourself armbarred. But if you go for the choke they have to open their closed guard to set up the armbar and or stop the choke. So, if you are waiting it saves you opening their guard the hard way, let them do it for you. Take (&keep) the first inch that it gives then bail out. I dare you to pick all the techniques that you think are "wrong" and think about some of them this way. Cheers, Dave

I would have to score this troll 7/10.

It was executed in such a technical way, with a great disguise - but seemed to lack enough depth to avoid being noticed as a troll. Perhaps avoiding the attack on the seminars may have been a better choice to avoid detection!
