i've read so much supporting both sides and i was wondering how you all felt.
i usually mix things up. I'll work higher volume w/ 60-80% of my max for most of the month, but i'll lift heavy once a month or so.
what do you get the best results with? and which method do you think is the most effective?
lifting volume? or lifting intense?
It depends on what your 'focus' is.
When I was a beginner it was a solid foundation of 12reps x 3sets on squats and nearly every exercise I did for about 6months. Total beginner.
Then mix it down to 8reps x 4sets then to 6reps x 5sets.
Now I mix it depending on what I'm doing.
I don't squat for volume anymore. Most volume is 6reps x 5sets.
If you mix it up, you will get better results. Mix it up every 6-8-10 week cycles. I get results whatever the cycle or reps and sets scheme I go on.
I don't like volume in general though...I much prefer to squat heavy. I love volume on Snatchs but hate it for the C&J. Doubles for C&J break me...

do you want to get better at lifting weights? Stronger? More endurance?
the way i look at it at the moment, variety is a good thing. I like the idea of mixing your rep schemes
