Interesting way to triangle from 1/2 guard

Was browsing Youtube and found this. Dont know who this is but I really think he really has something innovative here. Anybody know who this is or seen it before?

Looks pretty nice. The fight would be to get such a dominate grip on somebody with experiance.

Thanks Ryan.

No Problem.  I make best triongle and this will help.

It's not very hard to get on someone with experience, blue/purple, no problem.

I use this grip all the time when I use the hook sweep. Often times from 1/2 guard or hook/butterfly guard, the whole battle is about getting that underhook. High level guys are harder to get a good underhook on, so this is your next best option at that moment because it also saves you time. We all know how fighting for the underhook can be tough against a well trained grappler.

Just go to the hook sweep from that double wrist control grip, nothing fancy, just the basic hook sweep. If their base is too good to fall for the hook sweep it often sets up a triangle, just adjust to make room for your leg to come out. Something I learned from Renzo Gracie many many years ago and still use all the time since.

Thank you very much for posting

There is something i cant understand.

This technique works very well when your opponent places his weight back guards and you have space to grip. But what happen when you are with your back flat on the floor or you are in your half guard side and your opponent is pressuring you dont giving you space to work?

Awesome, thanks. I've been fiddeling with sweeping to the opposite-side of the overhook-one, and the triangle is my No 1 sub. This tie-up offer both options.

i have been watching the rest of his videos, and this guy is amazing. I like so much his techniques to finish from the back. Very very solid.

Anybody know who this guy is?

pffft, he ain't no ari bolden that's fo sho.

Something that works for me. I use the same overhook but instead of stuffing their other arm down and then jumping it I like to control the wrist and pull it away from their body. After I have that I jump my knees up and pinch them around their body (one knee behind their back and one knee in their chest). Once you are there you have them completely controlled and your front leg is already high up on their body so you just use the wrist control to create space and then step your foot through and place it over the shoulder. The good part of doing it this way is that you can continue to control the arm even after you lock the triangle to limit their defense. I use it all the time and it works great.

Very cool.

I've been playing with attacks and sweeps from here myself (I have short legs, and like these types of guard attacks). I never thought to shove his hand up like that. Brilliant (but then again....the simple are always brilliant and overlooked!)

Who is this guy? Name, affiliation (if any)? I like the other vids too....very good stuff.

Keep it coming Master Blaster!

IMO if someone is pressuring you on top of HG they really arent attempting to pass or submit you, when they attempt to pass they wont be pressuring you as much and thats when you make your move.

swip sux but tri might work saw similar setup in rodrigo g. nhb techz book w/pelirgo

when i am passing the half guard, what i try to do is to give pressure to my opponent not letting him to obtain free space. I think is what everybody do.

i have practiced this technique today, and i think is very very practical for open guard and close guard. And of course, when the opportunity comes (you have broken his posture and he is placing the arms in the right place).

For half guard i dont like it. Normally guys are not waiting for you there.

anyway, awesome techniques. Is amazing how people invent.
