Intermittent fasting while still remaining paleo?

I'm doing the LeanGains 16/8 protocol. (Did it last year and got great results). Last year I did it with eating carbs from grain sources, but I'm thinking I feel better when I don't eat these types of carbs.

Maybe a stupid question, but are these type of carbs necessary while IF'ing, or can I keep it more paleo-friendly?

BTW - I'll give an example of my high calorie day meals and my low calorie day meals.


High
Meal 1
-4 whole eggs, 3 egg whites
-1/4 cup black beans
-1/2 cup oatmeal
-1/2 cup berries
-1/2 cup vegetables
-1 scoop protein powder
-1 tbsp peanut butter

Meal 2
-16 oz chicken or fish
-3 cup veggies
-12 oz sweet potato

Meal 3
-12 oz beef
-2 cups veggies
-1 cup brown rice



Low
Meal 1

-16 oz salmon
-3 cups veggies
-1/4 cup chickpeas
-handful raw nuts
-olive oil as dressing

Meal 2

-12 oz chicken or beef
-3 cups veggies
-1/4 cup black beans
-handful raw nuts

Meal 3

-8 oz chicken or beef
-3 cups veggies
-1/4 cup beans
-1/4 cup guacamole

*1 tbsp fish oil every day

You can mix paleo and IF.
