A long while ago there was a thread on interval timers. I need a wrist model to use for Taku's intervals. Can someone help me out here?
Thanks.
JKennedy is correct
LeftBench is correct.
Gymboss isn't a wrist model, but it totally kicks ass. It can clip on your shorts.
casio or timex watch
I got that. It works for me.
Once you get a gymboss it is hard to go back to a watch. The watch is ok when I run but the gymboss is way versatile
So... you get a thrill up your leg?
hopes JKennedy isn't putting the gymboss in his back pocket
Isn't it worse when you forget your mouth huard in there and get kicked in the teefs?
I read a web-page somewhere about another way to do it. Use your computer to assemble your own inteval timer mp3 file. Use your own voice to exhort yourself to 'GO GO GO!' for the work phase, then rest at appropriate times, etc. Any freeware audio editor program will make it easy to stitch the intervals together however youlike.
The gym boss works great and is pretty cheap to buy.
gymboss rules. plus the guy told me they are coming out with a slightly more rugged "sport" version that is encased in rubber or something
kingabiu,
Audacity is an awesome and easy-to-use program to do that. Best of all, it is 100% free. It is an open source program and can be found at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
For those that don't deal with the technical world, sourceforge is a completely legitimate site and repository for open source software. No spyware...
I have a gymboss timer, and no doubt it is awesome. Even with beep high and vibrate selected for alerting, I'd occasionally miss the alerts while listening to my ipod and doing things like heavy bag rounds, burpees, etc. I ended up using Audacity to slice together mp3 files for the different intervals I like to work. You can use multiple mp3's, and you can overlay mp3's, your own voice, alerts bells, etc. It takes a second to figure out, but once you do, it is simple as can be. I even used it to put music in the background of Bas Rutten's conditioning tapes. I like those tapes for heavy bag work, but it was just Bas shouting out combos.
