Invisalign

Has anyone had them?? Good, bad? Much pain? I also wonder if it's super annoying and gross having to take them out every time you eat... Phone Post 3.0

You won't get pubes stuck in them while blowing your boyfriend. Phone Post 3.0

Invisalign worked great for my son. He just finished with them. Very happy with the results and not inconvenient at all for a 16 year old kid. Phone Post 3.0

Oh good! How long did he need them for? Phone Post 3.0

Just got finished with them. Very, very happy with the results. Pain the butt taking them out to eat but you get used to it. They only hurt when you change the trays every two weeks. Take 4 advil an hour before you change them, or do it right before you go to asleep. Phone Post 3.0

I had them, happy with the result. Was terrible for the first week getting used to having them in but after that your brain adjusts to it and you barely feel them. Not much pain.

Did it...

Problem is that if you don't wear them forever (at night)... your teeth will go back to being crooked.

Had a very similar system about three years ago.... Was 36 at the time..., had them for about 6 months then a constant retainer for 6 months now I wear a retainer at night.....
Was a great system as almost invisible.... Good results.... Some pain when you get a new brace, trying to get it out to eat can hurt....
Overall I was very happy with it Phone Post 3.0

You just get a retainer to wear same as any brace.

I had conventional braces as a kid
Over time they moved and I used Invisalign to straighten them out again (6months)
I just have a permanent retainer cemented in place ( called a V band I believe) it allows me to floss while being permanent Phone Post 3.0

I read on quora about a kid that made a set on a 3D printer for 32 dollars Phone Post 3.0

Problem is he needs multiple sets (easy enough I guess if he prints them)
But also needs an understanding of where he wants his teeth to move Phone Post 3.0

Wearing them right now.

Had braces as a kid. Teeth moved a lot since then, so I tried invitation at age 40. My teeth have moved a ton already. I use this little mouthpiece called Acceledent for twenty minutes a day. That cuts the time you have to wear them by over half. I put in a new trays every five days.

It's not too much of a pain to take the trays out. It just to eat when you take them out. Your teeth will feel sore as if they are loose, but usually for only the first few bites. They pop on and off very easily. You are only supposed to drink water while they are in, so going out drinking is a pain in the ass.

No one notices when they are in. People only know if I tell them.

I'll just chime in and say I had them and they worked great. Everyone here has covered the challenges with taking them out to eat (just a pain in the ass) and the discomfort with a new tray. Overall definitely would recommend. Phone Post 3.0

but it's not just trays. There are tiny plastic pieces glued to your teeth. The trays have little divots in them, and they move from tray to tray. So the little plastic pieces adjusting to the moving divots are what moves your teeth.

I'm sure he couldn't fuse the little plastic pieces to his own teeth. But cool of him to try.

So, he went to the 3D printing lab on campus. According to CNN Money, he created 12 non-toxic plastic molds of his teeth and used animation to determine how each tooth should be moved so they wind up in the right spot after 16 weeks. (He modeled the process Invisalign uses to create its clear retainers)

Overall, he said it cost less than $60! That's amazing when you think about how clear braces or retainers, like Invisalign, can get really expensive with costs ranging up to $8,000.

His gaol was o confidently smile using all his teeth! I think he did a great job.

Can we get someone to discuss the financial side of Invisalign Phone Post 3.0

I thought the night retainer would just be temporary, no? Phone Post 3.0
