Is anybody good at rap anymore?

Seems like nas, wu tang, canibus are the goats of my time (early 90s). What's comparable nowadays? Is rap dead? Please post examples. The songs on madden 16 and nba 2k16 are terrible, I'm assuming this is the state of rap. Phone Post 3.0

I haven't listened to rap in over 10 years btw Phone Post 3.0

I'm stuck in the 90's - early 00's and every time I venture into modern hip hop I want to run back to my comfort zone like a scared child, afraid of the dark. Phone Post 3.0

modern rap is in a bad state. the so called best rappers today are trash.

you might get a guy here or there who is solid but for the most part they suck. they state of rap right now is so bad when a rapper has something thats halfway good people act like it is the best ever because everything else just sucks so bad.

90- early 2000 was the prime for rap. i even love the 80's rap. but it was much more basic compared to the late 90's

Depends what you're into, J Cole, Drake, Kendrick, Big Sean, The Game have put out some good stuff recently and those are just mainstream American guys.

I liked drake 0 to 100 it's on my nba 2k16 game. I looked at his other stuff and it's mostly garbage Phone Post 3.0

Logic, Chance and Danny are some fresher rappers I love. Action Bronson and Ab Soul as well. Seba Jun / Nujabes is some good hiphop

Listen to Acid Rap and Young Sinatra

Here's Young Sinatra

Logic is very smooth and great lyricist, Chance is more manic, but incredibly versatile with production/rap style and he has some killer drug lyrics (one of my favorite, "flip a candy yum that's the fucking bombest, lean all on a square, that's a fucking rhombus lol), and Danny is a lot more abrasive and electro/dirtydetroit style and I got sick of him, but has some impressively smart lyrics and general production on his albums (he doesn't just release singles, but puts work into the whole album's flow).

Pick and choose man, there's lots of great rap out there

That's the thing, aside from Game, everyone on that list (to varying degrees) is exactly what I dislike about hip hop. I know I'm supposed to praise Kendrick as the 2nd coming but, fact is, I'm just not feeling him. Phone Post 3.0

I honestly don't understand how anyone can hate Acid Rap or Young Sinatra.

Blew my mind those were free mixtapes when they were both released 2013
