This!

No, you really believe they'd do that, especially after a sizable jump in the ratings?

They're taking the week off for whatever dumb, self sabotaging, momentum hindering, reason. They'll pick things up the following week.

I'm enjoying the show!

The shows are shot, they'll air somewhere.

It's taking a week off due to the July 4th holiday. A lot of networks choose not to air new shows on holidays. USA is doing the same thing with 'Royal Pains', and it is one of the highest rated shows on cable. It will be back on July 10th.

tna and raw and smackdown are not taking the week off!

I think that's just speculation as to why Bellator is taking the week off.

It could be because of the low ratings at the beginning, they want to allow stragglers who didn't know the show was on before, a chance to get caught up. At least that would be a semi rational explanation. And to give more support to this theory, they are still airing the reruns of the first two episodes in their normal time slot.

I don't think the fact it would land the day before July 4th is rational reason to skip a week. It's not even the holiday itself. It's like I've said before, they're always going to have an obstacle as minor as that. If that's too much to overcome, then Bellator's shows will end up failing. They need to not be so scared of a general NFL or NBA game, things like that. The most important thing is that they're consistently on the same night and time that's conducive to ratings in general so they can build an audience. If they're worried about people going out on July 3rd, then why are they moving to Fridays?

Caleb Alexander Von Reuter - They did the same thing on FX with wilfred, and that's on Thursday Phone Post 3.0

Thursday is the 4th of July. Wednesday is the 3rd of July.

Its off this week, its not killed yet.  even if the show tanks this season they will do another cause if they dont it shows Viacom isnt invested in the org.

I dont know why they are off cause its not like Wed is the 4th but maybe they figure everyone is off on Thurs so they will be out on Wed partying and traveling etc.

Well sheeeeeit Phone Post 3.0

The evening of July 3rd is pretty much a holiday. It's like saying Xmas eve isn't a holiday because its the night before Xmas. If you're from my area, Wednesday thru Sunday is a holiday this week. Keep wishing Zuffa shills

the numbers have been a disaster...  there wont be another season.

We havent even gotten to see Riggs fight yet.

And the mole comes out of its hole.

WHy does anyone think they would cancel it mid season?  Its had two episodes and its already been filmed.  This sesaon will play out, good or bad.

Whether it gets a second season we dont know, I think it will, think they have to try but anyone thinking they kill it after two weeks is an idiot.

Even the Chevy Chase show had 25 episodes

Yeah, they already even paid the fighters, and coaches. They'd just be throwing money down the drain if they canceled it early. Might as well get some return on investment, even if it's not equivalent to what they paid. If blocking higher rated programs is an issue, they'd move it to later on at night and show it then.

And like you said long-term, it's only one season from which they can make adjustments, and they've probably invested in it longer term. They'll probably go two at least.

I doubt he really think these things anyways. He's just trying to add to the negativity surrounding Bellator. If only just a few people turn the channel, he's done his job.

I watched the first 2 episodes... I hope they stop editing fights so much, can hardly watch a single fight properly.

and the whole coach selection thing is pretty lame.. why would the audience care which coach they pick? they try to build all that suspense around something no one give a shit about.

and some parts looked scripted and awkward. anyway, we'll see how that turn out.

And where is bjorn?

The snake knows he has 0 charisma and is not representing his company.

WHO WILL THEY CHOOOOOOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the editing fights doesn't bother me so much at this point. They're just the prelims, we get the gist, and I fast forward thru dead parts of less important UFC and Bellator fights anyways.

Maybe they'll start showing full fights from the round of 16 on. They'll have 7 shows left to air 14 fights. That means 2 per show/hour, which is standard for live cards, and in this case it'll be taped so they'll know how to group fights so there's an appropriate amount of lead-up and commercials. They could pair a decision with a finish, for example.
