billcosbiguez - sanshou is not a traditional tma sport. it is a recent martial art developed by the chinese government to give the chinese a chance against the thais in kickiboxing contests. the training is modern and 'alive' rather than traditional, dead pattern, and stylistically rather than functionally based.
also, Cung Le was a really good collegiate wrestler
hmb - This is the only man to come from an traditional TMA sport, that he dominated with ease, challenge himself, step up into the largest MMA arena, and then become an undefeated MMA superstar.
He fought one the greatest MMA legends ever, winning with a viscous barrage of kicks, and retired untouched.
He has never been taken down in MMA or hurt, and retires with grace. Something I wish more Champions would do.
If Anderson, Machida, or Fedor retired right now, they would claim this spot, but Cung Le really knows he peaked, and will be remembered for the Champion he is, not some HL reel KO.
Cung le sucks. Who fucking cares about this guy.
I am sure tekken the movie will be a Blockbuster, as in straight to blockbuster.
Frank Shamrock isn't a challenge? That's news to me.
Also, I remember before that fight, about 80% of people thought Shamrock was going to beat that ass. And then when Cung beat that ass, all of a sudden Shamrock is aged, shot, done, etc. etc.
hmb, I was being sarcastic. Missed it, eh? Why was I being sarcastic? Because your statement was stupid. Cung and Bas has about the same number of MMA fights.
Btw, I actually know someone who knows Cung Le, and we've had a few conversations about his future in MMA, and he told me that Cung knows that he lacks the ground skills to compete with some of the best fighters in MMA, if the fight goes to the ground. Nevertheless, he still may end up fighting Diaz if the money is right. I like Cing Le a lot, but your statement couldn't have been meant seriously.
on point ron den otter. cung has never claimed to be the best ever. he's just compared often and he's a humble dude who works his ass off harder than most people in the sport. he's stoked to be where he is today and continue his journey to be in more shows in the future.
hmb - Cung Le would beat Nick Diaz's stoned ass back into his moms basement!
is that a fucking joke? nick is younger, bigger, and is a BJJ blackbelt. nick also finished frank (cung's only opponent of note, unless you think sammy morgan and tony fryklund are revelant) faster than cung did, and more decisively.
cung le is a paper champion if I've ever seen one.
