Is DT your father figure?

Not wanting to make another political thread just merely want to discuss this from an analytical standpoint. Also not from US so have no horse in this race whatsoever.

It seems like a lot of the people who attach onto Donald Trump’s identity see him as the father they never had type situation. It’s completely understandable - successful, trophy wife, does and says how he feels regardless of the backlash. His almost cult following of males in particular, seem to grasp onto his larger than life character and find leadership and comfort as if he was one of their own. Possibly seeing him as an the father they wish they had.

Obama also had the same sort of cult following - consisting mainly of younger women who saw a successful, handsome well spoken man who they found comfort in irregardless of his policies.

So with that being said and if it applies - Do you, in a sense, consider the big DT to be a father figure?

1) You can’t make a thread like and this and say you don’t want to make a political thread. You just made one, but it’s a reasonable question nonetheless.

2) Men, especially white men, are the main target of woke’ism. White privilege, white supremacy, toxic masculinity, mansplaining, man spreading, etc. DJT represents anti-woke’ism. A world where they aren’t public enemy #1. Obama changed the game to being about identity instead of policy, and Trump took the ball from him and ran full speed. When politics becomes about identity, you no longer use the rational part of your brain, you use pure tribal emotion.

Just my opinion, and I’m not a Trump supporter or American.

“a successful, handsome well spoken man”

You forgot clean.

I voted Trump and couldn't imagine seeing him as a father figure. I loved my father. I don't even like Trump but support his platform [conservative judges, rework trade deals, tough on illegals and China]. To be fair his children seem to love him.

Disagree with point 2. White women are the most ‘woke’ of all the population.

I’d like to say you would be the majority of his support, thinking critically to determine what policies you agree/disagree with and then making an informed decision. The OP was more aimed at the people who wholeheartedly follow his direction, whether or not they align with their own views because of his leadership. But good reply nonetheless

Nope but the hypocrisy from the left is ridiculous. But then again, if you don’t share their views then you’re a trump supporter. So who knows, I might be considered one.

You’re right about the tribal emotion, I definitely think DT plays on it as much as Obama did, but not in such a direct manner. He knows his target audience would (probably)? be middle families, white men 40+, the upper middle. Then his persona bends to match what these people want to hear and a lot of that crowd would respond to a strong ‘head of the family’ type in my opinion

No. All politicians are crooks. Throughout history they have proven their willingness to be dishonest scumbags time and time again. I dont like any politician,  and have no positive feelings towards anyone in that occupation whatsoever.

Edit: I do agree with your post. To me it seems like a lot of people who are obsessed with him are in desperate need of leadership.

And that’s where white guilt comes into the equation. And I disagree, at least slightly. Black women are the most woke, then white women, then everyone else is pretty close. Most black dudes I know think the whole woke thing is silly. Karen’ism, however, is colour blind.

I do, but only because i want Melania for a step-mother.

A thread meant as an analytical discussion of a political subject IS a political thread, dumbass. Nice attempt to sound smart, tho

I share the same views. It’s a dishonest trade that lends itself to corruption and self-preservation - at any cost. But they are a necessary evil in society, you can only hope to elect the least self-serving into power

Swap the word thread for debate. My bad. Have no say on US politics so didn’t want spastics coming in saying but but but Biden or Trump or 4 more years or any of that bullshit

I really hated Trump when he got elected. I unplugged from social media and and the OG for a while because I didn't want to be influenced by all the misinformation and bullshit from both parties.

In that time, for personal reasons I immersed myself in learning about economics and financial markets.

donald trump is the president we need, and if you don’t agree it’s likely because you have no idea what you’re talking about and/or are soft as baby shit.
