He's a savgae on the mat...thats fer sure...
He took jiujitsu and put his own twist to it, creating his own system. I'd say yes
To me he is, some of the BJJ purists might argue that, though.
BJJ? Yes, he will be considered as such
he is very vocal for sure and talented. but let's face it, he placed 4th ONCE in ADCC. The guard system he is known for isn't used by any high lvl competitors or champions. Compared to Gordo, De La Riva, Roletta, ect. I would say no. Because quite frankly, he is best known for his online antics, Ari Bolden, and Brandon Quick, rather than winning MULTIPLE championships or producing champions. That's a tragedy imho because at one point it thought 10th planet would be what Team lloyd Irvin is (without the rapes ofcourse). I thought by now that Eddie bravo would have created a powerhouse.
At the very least, a legend of the UG.
No. He is but a sheep in Mestre Renato's flock. Caralho.
Pride Wanderlei - He took jiujitsu and put his own twist to it, creating his own system. I'd say yes
100% agree with this. He is also a legendary truther!
in terms of american bjj players? he for sure is
people can say all the shit they want about him, but he triangled one of the greatest (possibly the greatest) sport bjj players of all time on the biggest stage
He had a legendary match against an actual BJJ living legend. Then he milked it for all it was worth. That does not make him a legend himself.
Eddie always says he developed 10th Planet JJ for mma, not sport grappling. He has been devoted to this since leaving sport BJJ after tapping Royler. When he makes his much anticipated UFC debut, I am confident that he will show the world that he is a legend.
He is a legend...
His system is great for Mma also he put no-gi on the map. He started a Jiu Jitsu league where matches have punches thrown. He is _Machado black belt , beat a gracie and he is a Rock star who loves bunny rabbits!
...legend
Eddie Bravo is fucking dope bro.
I like his history.
i just want to make sure that i think that he is a genious that made his attributes work for his jiu jitsu.
Vinny is a world champ and he uses the rubber guard on occasion right?
No matter what you think of him he has made his mark on the sport.
Pioneer might be a better word.
Is he the greatest jiu jitsu guy out there? No and he will be the first to tell you. But the level of commitment and knowledge to take something like jiu jitsu and develop a different way to do it with pretty damn good results? That's legendary
PrettyBoy -Vinny is a world champ and he uses the rubber guard on occasion right?
No matter what you think of him he has made his mark on the sport.
I love Eddie but come on Vinny was a killer before he trained with Eddie recently.
Mufasatheking - Pioneer might be a better word.
This is pretty spot on. I think hes a legend but just not in the same way a guy like Marcelo is, and Eddie would probably agree.
