Is Fedor really this cheap?

Even if he got every cent of the M1 "consulting fee", which it's safe to say he certainly did not, his total would have been the same as what Arlovski was being paid ($1.5 million) and less than what Brock, Randy, Chuck, etc make for a good PPV. Brock was rumored to have made as much as $4 million for UFC 100, and of course the deal UFC offered Fedor supposedly "could have" been as much as $5 million per fight if the PPV numbers were good.

No wonder anyone who partners with M-1 goes bankrupt.

banco - I sometimes wonder if Fedor is getting fucked over by shady managers the way lots of american boxers have been. I really don't see how he wouldn't make significantly more money fighting in the UFC. Maybe he doesn't care about money but maybe he's been manipulated...

Fedor is like Kaizer Sozay.  He's the man behind the man behind the man, all while sitting right in front of your face.

fiercedragon - does fedor actually make anyone money?

Fedor probably makes much more than we think.  He just doesn't drive a Ferarri and live a in a manison.  He seems like a simple type of guy.  If you watch the 360 show you wouldn't even know Fedor was rich by looking at how he lives.

um... Moscow is the most expensive city in the world. There are more million and billionairs in Russia than any other country. Oil, coal, science and arms has been very good to them.

In other words, $300,000 does not go that far in parts of Russia. But, Fedor makes way more than $300,000.

Mad Xyientist -  you should always take the published purse numbers at face value.

Yes, and Affliction would obviously continue to hide money paid to Fedor while defending a lawsuit from M-1...they would never want to show the massive expenses piling up to help actually defend their reasons for cancelling.

Just because Fedor is a minority owner of M-1 does not mean he saw 1 dime of that money paid to them. That money could be used for marketing, paying staff, funding the next M-1 Challenge, paying Vadim's wife...whatever the majority owners want. In the US their is corporate law that allows minority owners protection...but I seriously doubt they exist in Russia.

I thought he took a % of the ppv aswell.

^^^You're really reaching here rtwil2007^^ No one knows for certain what he's making but him. Leave it at that

I'm sure UFC has as many supposed Mafia ties if not more than M-1 supposedly does too

dont forget fedors gotta pay all those m-1 dudes plus the 2 bearded fellas. man he surely wouldve made more money in the ufc. oh well whateva makes fedor happy

i didn't say fedor wasn't making money. my question is does anyone make money w/ him? as much as people say he's the greatest, he doesn't seem to draw good #'s...

I guess they do or no one would be in business with Fedor.

LOL Moscow is not the most expensive city in the world.
I was there last year. Pricing is nowhere near cities like London, Rome, Paris, etc...

Its true it apparently now has the most billionaries in one spot but even 'the most' still adds up to 0.0001% of the population.

And Fedor doesn't live in Moscow anyway. Prices for everything plummet enormously outside Moscow and St Petersburg.
