Absolutely he is legit.. Are you kidding? That was one of the biggest complaints is that he never really used it. He was too busy putting on a show with the stand up when he could have probably just submitted his opponent on the ground.

Sam Lombardo - Im reasearching Rick Franklin for his next fight with Wanderlie and I see his coach and head trainer is the loud cat from TUF 2. I havent seen him in the UFC for awhile but I remember them praising his BJJ. SO I looked him up on youtube and found this:
