IMO, Melendez should be able to defeat Masvidals style since he trains with THE Nick Diaz.
Honestly... is anyone putting money on Masvidal besides his friends/family and risk taking gamblers?

They actually have completely different styles imo. Masvidal uses a lot of good footwork and head movement, while Diaz uses his length and a large volume of punches that eventually break whoever he's fighting
Melendez will destroy him. I like Masvidal, he's exciting, but he's honestly a bit over rated. Dude got shut down by Damm, choked unconcious by Imada, and lost to Palomino and Daley. I know he put a beating on Noons, but the hype is pretty nuts considering he is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.

Nick diaz is the poor man's nick diaz. 
Rofl at people that judge fighters based on wikipedia.. He was destroying Imada before that fluke submission and many would've given him the nod over Daley in that fight (haven't seen it so can't judge).. And the way he destroyed Noons is powerful.. He is Diaz with less BJJ and much more refined standup

Masvidal hands are way more crisp than Diaz's... His wrestling is better too.
So to answer your question, no way. Both good fighters but with different styles.
