Is Machida the next Royce?

Royce started the MMA revolution in the states by showing us jiu jitsu and the ground game.

Is Machida the next step in the evolution of the game by showing the relevance of traditional martial arts timing, evasion, and striking?

you can have!!!

much more athletic, faster reflexes, can throw a punch, so no, props to royce though...

At this point, I'd have to say yes.  He DOMINATES his opponents.

Yes, now you have to train another faction to be a complete and legit MMA fighter because it's now on display. Lyoto has not even lost a round

Yes, once Machida starts to rack up wins in title defense, there will be rise of Mcdojo Karate schools emerging.

Machida is a karate based MMAer.

He is a complete fighter in the modern sense of the term but his base is karate.

Plain/simple.

I could see Lyoto haveing a huge influence on the sport

lines out the door at katare schools tomorrow for new sign ups haha

I don't know if people could base their styles on Lyoto as much as they learned from Royce.
