Is Mark Coleman wrestling skill still world class?

Can he still holds his own against NCAA champs and Olympians?

Mark is like 45 or something.. He is not physically at the same level of some hot shot 22 year old, who's body is mechanically perfect and injury free. Mark doesn't have the same explosiveness he used to have.

True, but he's got some serious heart.

 technique maybe, but speed, doubtful

They should sign King Mo to fight him so we can find out.

he's still ridiculously effective

simple answer...no.

TTT for the Antidote!

No

not to say his wrestling still isnt strong, but he's not at that level anymore.

Not nearly as quick as he once was.

He still competes at the highest levels of mma, so YES HE CAN

MMA werstling, or wrestling wrestling?

probably not. plus the sport has gotten more competitive. it would be like nog doing mundials now. that's not to say that his mma wrestling ain't good.

Has the level of wrestling gone up, even with Title IV?

For sure. MMA, BJJ, and the internet have all made wrestling better than it has every been. These guys are crazy now days. It's evolving like everything else. Title IV or not.

Of course not.

WTF are some people thinking?  Even in his MMA career you can see a decline in his speed and effectiveness.  What other physically demanding sport could you possibly be asking if a mid-40s guy who hasn't competed in that sport in 15 years is still world class?

He is past his prime, but not as far as you think. In the heavier weights at Olympic and international levels the most dominant wrestlers are at or past thirty years of age

milky way galaxy-class

If anyone has ever trained in only one facet of MMA Bjj,Judo, wrestling or any others, then switched over to MMA, your skill in your original sport is bound to drop off, no matter the age or individual. I'm sure if Mark Coleman spent a few months in the wrestling room at the O.T.C., he would be able to push the top guys and win some of the matches. I think it's a little unrealistic to expect 2 equal caliber athletes to draw even if one is solely focused on 1 sport and the other is spread out on learning other sports. It needs to be an instantaneous reaction to go belly down in freestyle wrestling when getting taken down, it's the difference between 1 point and 3 points. Coleman and others now have relearned what to do when getting hit with a t.d. by going to their back, just one of the differences that would make it difficult.
